What sets us apart?
Booking with Dj Drewzapp is unlike any other DJ experience. Why? While Drew is the DJ you will see directly controlling the music at your event, when you book with DJ Drewzapp you are actually booking a husband and wife duo. My name is Beth. While Andrew is behind the booth, I can be found behind the camera capturing photo and video documentation of all our events. We pride ourselves on bringing a feminine and masculine perspective with what we do and how we support the flow of the day and night. These distinctive perspectives allow us to connect with the couples we work with. This being said, for a majority of the brides we work with, you can feel confident that there’s another person who understands how important those little moments are - like the exact time stamp of your grand entrance. We wanted to create an experience for the couples we work with. If this sounds like a good time, let’s get this thing started.
"What do you play?"
Any genre of music can be played at a wedding! A wide variety of music that appeals to a wide range of guests is what creates a lively atmosphere for the celebration. Typically starting with lighter music during the cocktail hour and dinner, then transitioning to more upbeat music for dancing later in the evening.
Now, I want to give you some insight on popular genres that I not only have experience playing, but also love to mix:
- Pop and Top 40 hits
- Latin and salsa music
- Hip-hop and R&B
- Banda and Tamborazo
- Disco and funk
- Electronic dance music (EDM)
- Afrobeats and Soca
Something to keep in mind is that the specific music played at your wedding will depend on the preferences of you, the couple getting married, and your invited guests. What I like to do is sit down with my couples and get to know you, ask you some questions like: What year did you graduate? What is your family's background? What music is on your Spotify/Apple/other playlists? During this meeting we will also discuss details pertaining to the event such as: Music you do NOT want played, whether or not you want me to take requests from guests, and many other details. I will also add that it is common for me as a DJ to read the crowd to see what kind of music is getting the most positive response in order to ensure that your night is a success and what you envision!
The Standard
Let us help you get the party started! Our Standard package provides everything you need to keep the party going. We take pride in offering our base package, while simultaneously offering some custom choices within it. While The Standard does not include Platinum lighting or DJ facade, this package is perfect for clients who are looking for quality audio and ambience within a budget.
